Me, The Mission & Support

Upon my graduation in May I began working at Maurices and nanning for a few families from church. In my spare time I have been speaking with friends and family, including some of you, planning a mission’s trip to Peru.
In all honesty, I have had a desire to do mission’s work since I was saved as a sophomore in high school. However, with the schedule of a high school student and in the newness of my salvation I was hesitant and unsure how or where to even begin. As I have continued in my walk, my heart for mission’s work has grown and the Lord has even placed 8 years of bilingual education in my hands to assist me on this journey.
The trip is set; I am scheduled to take off November 1st, 2010 and I will be returning August 4th, 2011. While in Peru I will be working with REAPsouth, this is the same organization Pastor Chad worked with for several years. REAPsouth is a non-profit organization set on reaching the lost people of the Andes Mountains and of the rainforest of Peru. When believers emerge, REAP will help to establish a church in that village. From time to time these new churches will ask REAP for help or support; REAP will then send people out to disciple to the church and village.  As part of the REAP team I will be working alongside three other people traveling from one village to the next discipleing each for a few months at a time.
I have been told that the average person spends $27.75 per day due to expenses including food, travel, lodging, and health insurance.  With airfare running at about $1,000 the cost of the entire trip is going to be about $8,700. Two wonderful ladies from my Bible study have blessed me by taking on the cost of my flight, so I am looking to raise $7,700 by November. I am asking you to pray about your role in investing financially in this mission. If you find donating is on your heart your gift can be filed as a tax deduction by giving your gift to the GraceLife church. All donations given to the church made in my name will be deposited directly to this mission’s trip. I also ask that you would pray for me throughout this trip, as traveling to a third-world country and being away from all of you, my family and friends, will surely take me out of my comfort zone, though I am anxious to see what God has planned!
God Bless,
